Send a Little Comfort

When cancer enters a home, it affects everyone inside it.

The person who was diagnosed is facing appointments, treatments and an enormous amount of uncertainty.

Beside them is a spouse, partner or caregiver trying to hold everything together.

And often there are kids watching someone they love go through something scary they may not completely understand.

Your donation helps us remind every one of them that they haven’t been forgotten.

Your gift becomes their box

Every Everts Foundation comfort box is put together for one specific family.

We learn a little about the people in the household — their ages, interests and the things they love — and then we shop for them.

Not a generic family.
Not the next name on a list.
Them.

We include comfort items for the person going through treatment, something for the caregiver sitting beside them and gifts chosen specifically for the children in the home.

Depending on the size of the family, we typically put $100–$200 worth of items into each box.

Then we pack it up, put their names on it and send a little reminder that there are people out there thinking about them.

We’ve sent 624 of them so far.

Every gift helps

You don’t have to fund an entire box to make a difference.

$25 can help us add personalized items for a child.
$50 can help fill a box with comfort items for a family.
$100 can cover a large portion of a family’s box.
$200 can help us build and send an entire personalized comfort box.

Whether you give $10 or $200, it becomes part of something that will eventually land on a family’s doorstep during one of the hardest times in their lives.

And sometimes, opening a box and realizing that complete strangers cared enough to think about your whole family means more than you might imagine.

Why we do it

When Aryn was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021, our family experienced an incredible amount of kindness.

People showed up.

They checked on her. They sent care packages. They brought meals. They asked how treatment was going.

We will never forget it.

But we also learned something during that time:

Cancer may happen in one person’s body, but the whole family goes through it.

That’s why we started the Everts Foundation.

We wanted to create the kind of box we wished had shown up at our house — one where Aryn was cared for, but where Matt and the kids opened it and realized someone had thought about them, too.

That’s what your donation helps us do for another family.

Help us send the next box

Somewhere, a family is having conversations they never expected to have.

They’re learning new medical words.
They’re rearranging schedules.
They’re trying to explain things to their kids.
They’re scared.

We can’t change their diagnosis.

But together, we can make sure that for at least one moment during all of that, they feel surrounded by a little bit of love.

Thank you for helping us send it.
